Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park
[14th August 2016-8:23am]
picture picture picture
The american architect Loui I. Kahn designed in the years 1973 and 1974 the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park at the south point of Roosevelt Island which could be realised, however, only in the years from 2010 to 2012.
Louis I. Kahn also designed the Salk Institute for Biological Studies which I visited in 2014 within the scope of my US journey.
US-president Franklin Delano Roosevelt formulated the Four Freedoms on the 6th of January, 1941 in his speech to the State of the Union speech before Congress. They played a role with the education of an anti-Hitler's coalition as well as by the later foundation of the United Nations.
