Death Valley National Park - After the visit of the Badwater Basin, the deepest land depression of North America became conscious by me, that I have already visited three of the ten deepest land depressions of the earth. OK - seven new points on my lifetime todo list.

In the Death Valley it is not about seeing but around the feeling. 118°F the thermometer registered in my visit. However, it was not really hot. Only the metal parts of my Leica became unpleasantly hot within minutes. And of those there are many in the Leica.

Albert Johnstone established from 1926-29 a castle in the Spanish style. Up to 2000 workers should have worked at times there. The works found with "Black Friday" a sudden one ends. The castle received the name from Walter Scott which Johnstone should have persuaded to this investment.
