Thursday, 17th July - At the 53rd birthday of Disneyland Resort in Anaheim (CA) I visited the park - although I spent most time of the day in the next-door Disney's California Adventure Park.
Differently to the Universal Studios, here can everybody, with some planning, shorten his waiting period on the rides, to a tolerable measure. "Fastpass" is called one of the magic words, to both one announces himself to begin at the ride, and afterwards, in the assigned period, can start the ride without waiting. "Single rider" is called the other. Here one becomes to the "fillingmaterial" for single, freely remaining seats on the ride and handles thus the queue.
During two days my senses were demanded with 2D-, 3D- or 4D attractions. I enjoyed on roller coasters to land, to water and in the darkness the various g-forces. But this all one grows pale towards «Soarin' Over California»! This 180°-projektion 4D-flightsimulation over California crows with the stimulation of the most emotional of our sense: the scent. On the flight above the fields of Ventura it scent of orange blossoms. The salty seabrush over Malibu blows around the face. The aroma of the evergreen completes the flight over the Yosemite Vally (in April - without elastic boats!) and calls varied emotions in my mind. The perfect illusion - creeps including.
About evening I changed the park and enjoyed, as an conclusion of my tour, the birthday fireworks about the sky of Disneyland. Then, the first and only night drive led me back to the Motel 6 in Hollywood.
